E-mini Russell 2000 Index futures track the Russell 2000 index, which measures the performance of the 2,000 largest small cap companies on the Russell 3000 Index. E-mini Russell 2000 Index futures can give investors the opportunity to manage small cap portfolio risk, as well as gain exposure to this market segment. In recent years, CME Group has introduced the Micro E-mini Russell 2000 futures contract which is 1/10th of the size of the standard E-mini Russell 2000 futures contract.
